Larry Dale Mallo, age 73, of Constantine, passed away Monday, October 15th, 2012 at Heartland Health Care Center in Three Rivers. Larry was born in Constantine on May 21, 1939, a son of Howard and Mildred (Eby) Mallo. He graduated from Constantine High School in 1957. Larry served in the National Guard for 8 years as a cook. On September 5, 1959 Larry married Marian Powell at Porter Baptist Church. He worked at Continental Can in Three Rivers, and Alcona Homes in Elkhart. Larry farmed for 25 years, and then worked for 11 years at American Axle before retiring. Larry enjoyed fishing, softball and basketball.
Surviving Larry are his daughters Cindy (Todd) Franklin, Union, Melissa (Patrick) Hess, Kendallville, IN, sons John (Jan) Mallo, Mottville, Matt Mallo, Constantine, grandchildren Jordan Mallo, Joanna Mallo, Jaclyn Mallo, Joelle Mallo, Spencer Hess, sister Marcia (Keith) Avery, Elkhart, brothers Robert (Julia) Mallo, Constantine, and Michael Mallo, Constantine, He was preceded in death by his parents, son Paul Mallo, and brothers Carol Mallo and Ronald Mallo.
Relatives and friends will be received Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Eley Funeral Home in Constantine. Religious Services will be held Friday at 11:00 am at Mottville Bible Church, White Pigeon, with Pastor Michael Bender officiating. Interment will be at Shavehead Cemetery Porter Twp.
