Leaf pickup in Sturgis

The City of Sturgis Department of Public Services is reminding its residents fall leaf pickup begins Monday.

Crews will follow the same route as they do with brush pick up, starting north of Chicago Road and west of North Nottawa Street, working their way across the north side of town and then through the south side.

Leaf pick up will resume each day where crews left off the day before and will adhere to the schedule through the end of November, as weather permits.

Under the city’s composting system, it is preferred that residents do not put leaves in plastic bags.

Bagged leaves may be taken to the compost site during scheduled hours through Nov. 19.
