Marilyn Marie Warner, 82, of Three Rivers, passed away Friday, October 26, 2012 at her home surrounded by family. Marilyn was a lifetime resident of Three Rivers, born on June 20, 1930, the daughter of George and Esther (Horn) Bradford. She worked at the soda fountain at Hudson’s Drug Store before graduating from Three Rivers High in 1948. She later worked at Vaughn’s Clothing Store and the Rose Room in downtown Three Rivers, as well as Harding’s Market for many years.
Marilyn was married to Luther L. Warner on August 19, 1949 in Three Rivers. She celebrated 60 years of marriage to Luther prior to his death in 2009. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and Three Rivers Elks. She enjoyed ceramics, gardening, antiquing, and spending time with family. Marilyn was involved in many activities with her children, including little league and Cub Scouts, where she was an active den mother. She especially loved being with her grandchildren and never missed special events in each child’s life. She truly loved her family and her special dog “Cooper.” In later years, Marilyn enjoyed special get-togethers with her former classmates from Three Rivers. She cherished their monthly luncheons.
Marilyn is survived by two children and their spouses, Michael & (Karen) Warner of Portage and Stuart & (Teri) Warner of Three Rivers; six grandchildren, Betsy (Jim) Rissi, Emily Warner, Adam (Katie) Warner, Benjamin Warner, Kris Warner, Jessica (Justin Hale) Warner; five great-grandchildren, Jenna and Jackson Rissi; and Lexis, Jlyn, and Mason Hale; one sister, Norma Grubbs; several nieces and nephews, and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and five sisters; her husband Luther in 2009; one son, Gary Warner in 1966; and a great-granddaughter, Alyvya Hale in 2005.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 31, 2012 at the Hohner Funeral Home, with Pastor Dan Lane officiating Armstrong International Chaplain.
Interment will be held in Riverside Cemetery.
