Reward offered in Elkhart killing

A $6,0000 reward is being offered for information in the shooting death of a 7-year-old northern Indiana girl fatally shot when three men tried to break into her house.  WSBT-TV reports the family of Kristyana Jackson of Elkhart and community donors raised the reward money. The girl died in August, two days after being shot when she and her mother returned from a high school football game.  John Jackson, who was inside caring for the couple’s 8-month-old baby, rushed to the door when he heard his wife scream. John grabbed Kristyana in an attempt to shield her as the assailants opened fire, and they were both shot. He survived.  Hundreds of mourners gathered outside her home after she died.  (AP)
