Ruth Esther Coler, 97, of Three Rivers, died Friday, Oct. 19, 2012 at Fairview Nursing and Rehabilitation in Centreville. She was born in Traverse City on Sep. 1, 1915 the daughter of the late Edwin B. and Mabel E. (Schley) Williams, and has lived in Three Rivers since the age of three. Ruth was the widow of Arthur W. Coler whom she married on July 14, 1933 in Warsaw, Ind. Arthur died in 1994. Ruth had worked at Stanco, Weyerhaeuser, J.C. Penney, Three Rivers Furs, and Peterson Spring all in Three Rivers. She was a member of the New Hope Assembly of God church in Three Rivers. She enjoyed sewing and gardening in her spare time.
Ruth is survived by a son, Norman S. (Eloise) Coler of Cheyenne, Wyo.; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Dorothy Hall of Milan, Mich. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Daniel Coler; a grandson, Christopher Coler.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Eickhoff, Farrand, Halverson Chapel in Three Rivers. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 24 at the funeral home with Rev. Steve Miller, Pastor of New Hope Assembly of God officiating. Burial will be in Moorepark Cemetery.
