Two arrest for armed robbery

Two suspects involved in an armed robbery at a Sturgis convenience store were taken into custody by Sheriff’s Department deputies Friday.

The men, whose names and community of residence were not indicated in a department press release, were arrested following a 12:30 a.m. incident Friday at a business in the 400 block of North Nottawa Street. A subsequent investigation led law-enforcement officials to the discovery of the stolen merchandise at an apartment in the 200 block of North Street.

A 26-year-old man was charged with armed robbery, while his 33-year-old accomplice was charged with two counts of resisting and obstructing and two counts of assaulting an officer.
