A pair of Three Rivers residents was arrested early Tuesday following a disturbance at their residence in the 600 block of French Street.
Three Rivers Police Chief Tom Bringman said a man and a woman, both 22, were arrested after they were involved in a confrontation around 4:30 a.m. with two guests.
Bringman said the four had spent the night drinking before a dispute between the male resident and the two associates.
Subsequently, one of the men was shot twice in the upper torso area with a .22-caliber rifle and stabbed twice by the female resident, while she stabbed the other in his hand.
The female resident was charged with two counts of attempted murder and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, while her companion was cited for discharging a firearm inside a dwelling while intoxicated and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony. In addition, he was wanted on a warrant for misdemeanor assault.
The man earlier in the evening had fired the rifle into an interior wall.
The shooting victim is in stable condition at Borgess Hospital, while the man who was stabbed in the hand was treated at Three Rivers Health and released.
