Keith Elmer Winrotte, 83, of Three Rivers, died Sunday, Nov. 11, 2012 at his home. He was born in Bremen, Ind. on Dec. 11, 1928 the son of Donald and Marie (Reese) Winrotte. He was a graduate of Tyner High School and attended Indiana Business College. Keith was a WWII veteran serving with the U.S. Army in Japan. He was married to Eleanor Zartman on Jan. 16, 1949 in Plymouth, Ind. While in Indiana, Keith worked for Standard Oil of Indiana and was a Realtor in South Bend before retiring to Michigan in 1979, where he enjoyed hunting and fishing near Harwood Lake. He was a member of the Lions Club in South Bend and Three Rivers and attended the United Methodist Church. He was an active coach and volunteer for the Chet Wagner Little League organization in South Bend, and a former member of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Keith is survived by a daughter, Rebecca Medich and a son, Brian (Tina) Winrotte both of Three Rivers; five grandchildren, Heather, Ashley, and Daniel Root, Kimberly Winrotte, and Amanda (Steven Jr.) Jors; five great-grandchildren, Kameron Root, Nathaniel Stacey, Hope Seager, Daisy and Remington Jors; a sister, Juanita Wilkins; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Eleanor; three brothers, Victor, Wayne, and Duane Winrotte; and two sisters, Mary Downing and Wilma Martin.
Cremation has been conducted and a private memorial service will be held by his family later. Memorials may be directed to a charity of one’s choice. Assistance was provided by the Eickhoff Farrand Halverson Chapel of Three Rivers. Condolences may be left for the family at www.efhchapel.com.
