Three St. Joseph County-based high school football teams are district champions following action over the weekend.
Three Rivers, Constantine and Mendon have moved on to the field of eight in their respective divisions. Three Rivers and Constantine picked up road wins Friday night, with victories at Williamston and Schoolcraft, respectively.
Meanwhile, Mendon defended its home field during a battle of previously unbeaten teams in a matinee contest Saturday against Climax-Scotts.
Sporting an 8-3 record, Three Rivers will travel to play Grand Rapids South Christian, also 8-3, in District 4 regional action at 7 p.m. Friday.
In District 6, Constantine will again play a road game and, for the second consecutive weekend, challenge an undefeated team. The 9-2 Falcons will tangle with the 11-0 Hillsdale Hornets, also at 7 p.m. Friday.
And in Division 8, Mendon is sporting an 11-0 record after handing Climax-Scotts its first loss of the season. The Hornets, who have won 25 consecutive games, will face a post-season rematch against 8-3 Muskegon Catholic Central in Mendon for the second year in a row with a regional championship on the line. Their contest also takes place at 7 p.m. Friday.
