Man arrested for theft

A Flowerfield Township resident was arrested Saturday night on charges related to the theft of irrigation wire.

Michigan State Police report the 27-year-old man was arrested around 9:40 p.m. on Maple Lane in Burr Oak Township. Investigators had noticed a large amount of wire at his residence before they made the arrest.

A department media release did not state the nature of the man’s presence at the location of his arrest.

Investigators said they believe the subject is involved in other, similar thefts of irrigation wire and that other people may be involved in the incidents.

His name was not released, pending an arraignment.
