Michaelyn A. (Mickey) Doty, age 77, of Nottawa, MI passed away Thursday, November 22nd, 2012 at her home. Mickey was born in Chatham, MI on October 31, 1935, a daughter of Michael and Evelyn (Lindquist) Malnar. She graduated from Eben High School in 1953. On January 29, 1955 she married Marshall Doty. He preceded her in death in April of 1983. Mickey came to this area in 1962 and worked as a waitress for 30 years at Lucky’s Sportsman, Neighbors, and the Round Up in Centreville. Mickey later worked at Fairview Nursing Home. Mickey was an avid reader, enjoyed puzzles and loved going to the casino’s. She will be remembered for always being available to help others.
Surviving are her daughter Denise Bell of Sturgis, grandchildren Kristi Bell and Tiffany (Michael) Graves, great grandchildren Emma Nicole Graves and Jonathan Baxter, sisters Melanie (Earle) Bontrager of Centreville, Janine (Greg) Beachemin of South Lyon, MI, Donna (Kent) Verhougstraete of Lansing, brother Richard (Judi) Malnar of Portage, sister in law Maryann Malnar of Middleton, Idaho and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and brothers David, Clifford and Dean Malnar.
Cremation has taken place. Relatives and friends will be received Sunday December 2 from 1 – 4 pm at the F.O.P Lodge, 24273 M-86, Centreville. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Fairview Nursing Home or the West Michigan Cancer Center. Arrangements were handled by the Eley Funeral Home in Centreville.
