Patricia Ann Vrobel, age 82, of Mendon, died Sunday, Nov. 18, 2012 at Heartland Healthcare Center in Three Rivers. She was born in Kalamazoo on Jan. 16, 1930 the daughter of William and Martha (Frick) Rynd. she graduated from Kalamazoo Central High School in 1947. Pat was married to Raymond Vrobel on Oct. 2, 1948 in Kalamazoo and they moved to Mendon in 1965.
Pat was a 4-H volunteer and managed the campground at the St. Joseph County Grange Fair for 15 years. She served on the Mendon Village Council for 30 years, and is a former member of the Mendon Downtown Development Authority.
Pat is survived by three children and their spouses, Mike (Susan) Vrobel, Susan (Rick) Eickhoff, and Brad (Kelli) Vrobel all of Mendon; seven grandchildren, Joseph (Marcie) Vrobel, Jamie (Nickie) Vrobel, Jeremy (Kristi Gray) Vrobel, Jessica (Josh) Sebranek, Robert Eickhoff, Ryan Vrobel, and Katelynn Vrobel; seven great-grandchildren, Landon and Ashton Vrobel, Alex Eickhoff, Grace and Tess Sebranek, Aiden and Mason Vrobel; a brother Bill Rynd of Lakeland, FL. She was preceded in death by her parents; and by her husband, Ray in 2011.
Cremation has been conducted. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday Nov. 26, 2012 at the Eickhoff Funeral Home in Mendon. A private interment of ashes will take place later in Mendon Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to either the American Cancer Society or the Mendon Food Cupboard.
