Ruth Goss, 86

Ruth E. Goss, age 86, of Sturgis, passed away early Monday morning, Nov. 5, 2012, at Parkview LaGrange Hospital in LaGrange, Ind.

Mrs. Goss attended Lifeway Church of the Nazarene in Greenville, Pa., and First Church of God in Three Rivers.

She was a true cookie artist and loved wearing silly hats, especially while leading singing at a nursing home in Pennsylvania, something she enjoyed doing for 30 years.

She is survived by a daughter, Peggy Jo (The Rev. John) McClimans of Sturgis; a son, Thomas Goss of Las Vegas, N.M.; six grandchildren, Saundra Colleen Frye of Sturgis, Heath John McClimans of Sturgis, Jason E. (Katarina) McClimans of Burr Oak, and Tara Goss, Taylor Goss and Tobi Goss; six great-grandchildren; a brother, Carl (Lois) Durand of Pennsylvania; a sister, Minerva Balcom of Washington; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold E. Goss, on May 4, 2003; and eight brothers and sisters.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Hackman Family Funeral Homes — Rosenberg Chapel, 807 E. Chicago Road, Sturgis. Mrs. Goss will be transported to William K. Baird Funeral Home, 14 Louisa Ave., Greenville, Pa., where the family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday and from noon-1:45 p.m. Friday.

Funeral services celebrating the life of Ruth E. Goss will begin at 2 p.m. Friday at William K. Baird Funeral Home. The Rev. Marty Adams of Lifeway Church of the Nazarene will officiate. Burial will follow the service at Shenango Valley Cemetery in Greenville.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be directed to Lifeway Church of the Nazarene, 94 Columbia Ave., Greenville, PA 16125.
