An exhaustive search for a Flowerfield Township man yielded a successful result earlier this week.
The 73-year-old man had been outside for about 18 hours before he was discovered around 4 p.m. Tuesday.
St. Joseph County Sheriff Brad Balk said Robert L. Woods was found in a field in Cass County, less than two miles from his residence off Dutch Settlement Road.
Authorities said Woods suffers from memory loss and he likely became disoriented after leaving his residence Monday night. He was spotted by the pilot of a Michigan State Police helicopter.
Searchers also used K-9, ATV and horseback to look for Woods. He was transported to Three Rivers Health for hypothermia, according to Balk.
