Vote recount for Wagner

An incumbent on the Colon Community Schools Board of Education has sought a recount from the Nov. 6 election.

Eric Wagner, who finished third in a race for two seats, requested the recount in light of his four-vote loss to second-place finisher Deb Bordner. Incumbent Eric Bower was the leading vote-getter by nearly 100 votes.

St. Joseph County Clerk Pattie Bender said the recount of votes cast in Colon Township will take place at 9 a.m. Dec. 6 at Colon Township Hall. Branch County officials from Sherwood and Matteson townships will follow with recounts of their own after St. Joseph County completes the process.

Wagner, 40, has been a board member for four years. The seat in question is for a six-year term.
