Buzzy Krontz, 52

Victor A. “Buzzy” Krontz, age 52, of Burr Oak, passed away Sunday afternoon, Dec. 16, 2012, at Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo.

He was born Aug. 27, 1960, in Sturgis, a son of the late Charles R. and Dessie (Keith) Krontz.

Buzzy resided in the Burr Oak area most of his life. For eight years, he was employed by Continental Accessories until he was forced to retire for medical reasons.

He was a true fan of NASCAR and enjoyed driving stock cars at Mottville Motor Speedway. He also enjoyed working with his computer, wrestling, fishing and loved watching his grandchildren and nieces and nephews growing up.

He is survived by his life partner, Teresa Hendrie, and her children Joesph Hendrie, Gabriel “Junior” Gonzalez and Kyle Hendrie-Evans; a son, Jeremy Merriman of Centreville; three grandchildren, Ryan, Ra,shawn and Demario; three sisters, Dessie Wyatt of Burr Oak, Dixie (Ivan) Barkman of Bronson and Vicky (Daryll) Currier of Howe, Ind.; two brothers, Charles (Cindy) Krontz of Sturgis and Earl (Barbara) Krontz of Holland; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Floyd “Bud” Krontz; and a nephew, Shaun Reaper.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Hackman Family Funeral Homes — Rosenberg Chapel, 807 E. Chicago Road, Sturgis.

Funeral services celebrating the life of Victor “Buzzy” Krontz will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. The Rev. Jean Ness of the Howe United Methodist Church will officiate. Cremation will follow the service. Private burial of the ashes will take place at the Burr Oak Cemetery in Burr Oak.
