A teacher at Eastside Elementary in Constantine is on paid leave as a procedural measure while the Constantine Police Department conducts an investigation at the school.
Superintendent Chuck Frisbie said he wasn’t at liberty to elaborate on the matter while the investigation remains active. He did say a 90-minute meeting took place privately with about 15 parents Monday night.
Constantine Village Manager Mark Honeysett said police Chief Jim Bedell and officer Holly Cerny are heading up the investigation and is the result of a matter reported last week.
Both Frisbie and Honeysett said the investigation will likely follow a slow pace because it involves interviewing children at the kindergarten-through-second-grade school, as well as the parents of at least two 5-year-old boys.
