Jerry E. Lash, age 66, of Colon, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2012, at Thurston Woods Village in Sturgis.
Jerry was born May 8, 1946, in Sturgis, a son of the late Philip E. and Ellen C. (Shafer) Lash.
Jerry had lived all of his life in the Colon area. He had worked for the Newport Company in Sturgis until it closed. He later worked as a driver for Auto Value in Sturgis.
Jerry enjoyed any kind of racing, especially at Martin Speedway. He also enjoyed watching the Detroit Tigers.
He is survived by two brothers, David (Dixie) Lash of Sherwood and Allen (Laura) Lash of Colon; and four nephews, Greg (Christy) Lash, Jayson (April) Lash, Brian (Lindsay) Lash and Dennis (Angie) Lash.
The family will receive relatives and friends from 2-3 p.m. Friday at Schipper Funeral Home in Colon. Funeral services celebrating the life of Jerry E. Lash will then be held at 3 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with Pastor Glenn Russell officiating.
If desired, the family suggests memorials be made in memory of Jerry to the Thurston Woods Villa bingo fund. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
