Marion Hults, 84

Marion Elizabeth Hults, age 84, of Sturgis, Mich., passed away Wednesday Dec. 26, 2012, at the home of her son and daughter-in-law Edward and Linda Hults.

She was born Sept. 30, 1928, in Bronx, NY, daughter of the late Herbert and Marion (Hopkins) Williams.

Mrs. Hults resided in Sturgis since 1965 coming from Detroit.

She retired from Grummon Olsen in Sturgis following 13 years of employment.

She was a member of the Holy Angels Catholic Church, the Lady of Fatima Society Group and for many years she bowled on the Tuesday Night Ladies League in Sturgis. She also enjoyed crocheting.

She is survived by two daughters, Jeanine (Larry) Ohlin of Centreville and Marion (Thomas) Picker of Sturgis; one son, Edward (Linda) Hults of Sturgis; six grandchildren, John Hults, Matthew Picker, Melissa Noel, Monica Picker, Chelsea Hults and Thomas Smallwood; two step-granddaughters, Andrea Starr and Jennifer Lee; nine great-grandchildren, Austin Smallwood, Braxton Smallwood, Maddison Smallwood, Wesley Hults, Anthony, Kasey, Logan, Audrey and DJ; three brothers, Charles Williams of White Pigeon, Arthur Williams of Sturgis and John Williams of New Port Richie, Florida and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; former husband Frank Hults; one son, John Hults; and one brother, James Williams.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. today at the Hackman Family Funeral Homes – Hackman Chapel, 114 S. Nottawa St., Sturgis, MI 49091, 269-651-2331. The Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. today at the funeral home. The Funeral Mass celebrating the life of Marion E. Hults will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Holy Angels Catholic Church in Sturgis. The Rev. Father German Perez-Diaz will officiate. In accordance with her wishes cremation will follow the Mass. Private burial of the ashes will take place at Oak Lawn Cemetery in Sturgis at a later date.
