Susan D. Kauffman, age 64, of Sturgis, Mich., passed away early Saturday morning, Dec. 8, 2012, at Sturgis Hospital.
She was born Aug. 1, 1948, in Sturgis, Mich., a daughter of the late Leo Joseph and Golda Viola (Ross) Hudson.
Susan resided most of her life in the Sturgis area. On Dec. 9, 1967 she married Larry Joseph Kauffman in Sherwood. He died March 5, 2007.
She had been employed by the Mastercraft Company in Shipshewana, Ind., and she was a homemaker. Susan enjoyed reading, jigsaw puzzles and word find puzzles. Sue had hobbies and interests but what she truly loved were animals and time spent with family at cookouts or rides with her great great nieces and nephews on country roads or through the cemetery.
Susan is survived one sister, Elizabeth (Stanley) Krontz of Thomson, Ill.; one brother, Harold Edward Hudson; 10 nieces and nephews including Debbie Hudson of Sturgis and several great nieces and great nephews; her lifelong best friend Judy Ettinger of Sturgis and her Poodle Pierre “PP” who she so dearly loved.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
There will be no visitation. A graveside service and burial will take place at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Oak Lawn Cemetery in Sturgis where she will rest with her husband. Mr. Larry Wallman will officiate.
