TJ Krull, 51

Theodore James (TJ) Krull, 51, of White Pigeon, died Sunday, Dec. 16, 2012, from injuries in an automobile accident.

Born on July 2, 1961, in Three Rivers, to Theodore R. and Shirley A. (Mock) Krull. He was a 1979 graduate of White Pigeon High School, where he played on the golf and baseball teams. He lived in Hawaii for several years and was a graduate of Leeward Community College at Pearl Harbor. While in Hawaii, he was owner of a freelance business, TJK Productions. Employed by Brady Film Company, he worked with Bob Hope, Loni Anderson, Mr. T and Tom Selleck on the Salute to Hawaii television show.

TJ was a certified scuba diver and hard suit diver. He enjoyed wind surfing, fishing and diving on shipwrecks. His love of the water led to winter in Sebastian, Fla. where he owned Captain Teddy’s Treasure Coast Tours. He worked with the family business of Krull Farms in detasseling and was employed in construction. His production company, TJK, produced “Invasion of the Zebra Mussel,” a documentary on the Great Lakes. When he was 22, he built a pontoon boat with his friend Roger Terry, named it the S.S. Honolulu and sailed from Chicago to New Orleans down the Mississippi River. He also enjoyed trapping, reading, history and was known as the family photographer.

Surviving family include four children, Summer, Kylee, Kyler Krull and Finnegan Bradley; his father, Ted Krull of White Pigeon; two brothers, Tom (Jackie) Krull and Michael (Melissa) Krull, all of White Pigeon; and nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother, Shirley, on April 2, 2003.

Visitation will be held from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Farrand Funeral Home in White Pigeon. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 21 at White Pigeon United Methodist Church with Pastor Scott Manning officiating. Interment will follow in White Pigeon Township Cemetery.

Donations may be directed to the White Pigeon United Methodist Church, White Pigeon Athletic Boosters or the White Pigeon Township Library. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
