Wanda Donihue, 90

Wanda (Good) Priniski Donihue went to be with the Lord on Dec. 7, 2012. She will be greatly missed by many people.

She was born May 20, 1922, in Sturgis.

She is survived by two children, Susan (Priniski) Schafer (Pat) of Newaygo, Mich., and Terry Priniski of Chattanooga, Tenn.; six grandchildren, John Grace (Cheryl), Scott Grace (Jennier), Blaine Schafer (Tina), Brian Schafer (Ann), all of Shepherd, Nadga Campbell (Glen) of Vicksburg and Nicole Hayden (Tony) of Indiana. She also had 17 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

There will be a visitation from 10 a.m.-noon Monday at the United Methodist Church in Sturgis. A memorial service will start at noon.

Wanda was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother and a very Christian woman all her life. She was very active with the United Methodist Church in Sturgis until Alzheimer’s took her away. She sang in the choir for 70 years and played the organ for many services, weddings and funerals. She kept her musical ability until about a year ago. Even when she couldn’t speak anymore, she could still play the piano.

Wanda also worked at Kirsch Company for 40 years and retired from there. She was an avid bowler and golfer. She participated in both of these sports well into her 80s. She also played in her retirement years with the Stacy String Band. She always had a love for music.

Wanda was preceded in death by her husband, John Priniski in 1985 and Robert Donihue in 1999. She also was preceded in death by a grandson, Steven Grace, in 2012.

Memorials may be directed to Hospice of Michigan or the donor’s choice.
