Andrea Irene Green age 30, of Sturgis, Michigan passed away early Saturday evening January 5, 2012 at Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
She was born November 22, 1982 in Houston, Texas daughter of Larry and Sheryl (Elliott) Green.
Andrea resided her early life in Taylor, Michigan and was a graduate of Truman High School in Taylor with the class of 2000. She and her family moved to the Sturgis and Bronson area in 2003.
She was currently employed and in the management training program at the McDonalds restaurant in Sturgis. While living in Manhattan, Kansas she worked as a phlebotomist at CLS Plasma and she enjoyed her time working for her aunt at Connie’s Cleaning Service in White Pigeon.
Andrea attended the Riverside Church in Three Rivers and enjoyed movies and traveling. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her because she was a friend to all and received her greatest joy when she was able to be helping others.
She is survived by her father and step-mother: Larry (Lee Ann) Green of Hemlock; mother and step-father: Sheryl (Doug) Elliott-Hauler of Kailua, Kona, Hawaii; one sister: Heather (Daniel) Acevedo, serving in the U.S. Army stationed at Fort Brag, North Carolina; one brother: James (Ashlee) Green of Vincenza, Italy; grandparents: Revs. Lawrence and Delores Green of Sturgis and Alva Elliott of Hawaii; three step-sisters: Jennifer Phillips of Ann Arbor, Angela McDonald of Saginaw and Rebecca Hauler Reed of North Dakota; two step brothers: Jeffrey Burnett of Hemlock and Doug Hauler on Kona, Hawaii; two nephews: David Acevedo and Angelo Acevedo; one niece: Isabella Acevedo and many step-nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her one brother: David Ray Green and maternal grandfather: James Elliott.
The family will receive friends from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 P.M. Friday at the Hackman Family Funeral Homes – Hackman Chapel, 114 S. Nottawa St., Sturgis, MI 49091, 269-651-2331. Funeral services celebrating the life of Andrea I. Green will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday at the Sturgis Wesleyan Church, 907 N. Nottawa St. in Sturgis. The Rev. Mark Farmer of the faith Fellowship Church in St. Charles will officiate. A graveside committal will follow the service at Oak Lawn Cemetery in Sturgis.
