Anna Dedes, age 62 of The Villages, Florida died Sunday Jan. 6, 2013 at the University of Michigan Medical Center in Ann Arbor following a long illness. She was born in Germany on Sep. 14, 1950 the daughter of Paul and Olga (Harbar) Pawlyk. The family came to the U.S. and settled in Detroit when she was three years old. Anna graduated from Wilbur Wright High School. She was married to Ronald Dedes on Feb. 8, 1969 in Dearborn. Together they operated Quality Lift Truck in Dearborn for many years, and she later worked for National Time Company, retiring to Florida 3 years ago. Anna enjoyed shopping, billiards, golf, and nightly dances at The Villages.
Anna is survived by her husband, Ronald; 2 children, Deanna (Robert) Stockamp of Columbus, OH and Greg (Rachel) Dedes of Mendon; 3 grandchildren, Ryan Stockamp, Mitchell Dedes, and Nathan Dedes; 1 brother, Steve Pawlyk of Detroit; 1 sister, Erika Pawlyk of Warren; niece, Lisa Shenduk of Washington, MI; and nephew, Paul Zajac of Warren. She was preceded in death by her parents; and by 2 brothers, Bob and Peter Pawlyk.
Cremation has been conducted. A private memorial service will be held later. It is suggested that memorials be directed toward cancer research at UMHS Office of Medical Development, ATTN: C.
