June Rachel Wolf, age 87, of Sturgis, passed away early Sunday morning, Jan. 6, 2013, at Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo.
She was born April 30, 1925, in Sherman Township, at the family home, a daughter of the late Henry and Marjorie (Daniels) Geark.
Mrs. Wolf resided in Sturgis since 1950, coming from Constantine. On May 26, 1943, she married Fred Wolf in LaGrange, Ind. He died Nov. 13, 2006.
For a short time, she worked at Transogram Company and a local laundry in Sturgis. Her true calling and employment was being a dedicated and loving wife and mother staying at home raising her children and caring for her husband.
She enjoyed playing cards, especially the game of Bunco with her card club. For many years, she and Fred loved spending winters camping in Florida.
Mrs. Wolf is survived by a daughter, Linda (Roger) Janes of Sturgis; a son, Frederick (Renee) Wolf of Constantine; six grandchildren, Frederick Wolf, Carrie Burns, Shuree Cheesmond, Eric Marks, Melissa Gittinger and Debbie Myers; 14 great-grandchildren, Dannielle McMillan, Matthew McMillan, Ashley McMillan, Austin McMillan, Alisa McMillan, Brittany Werkmeister, Caitlin Lovato, Mariah Wolf, Braylon Cheesmond, Bryce Cheesmond, Anthony Gittinger, Taylor Gittinger, Ashley Saterlee and Andrew Myers; five great-great-grandchildren, Hailey Lintz, Stephen Dunafin, Chloe McMillan, Brianna McMillan and Alaina Saterlee; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two brothers, Boyd Geark and Donald Geark; and three sisters, Eleanor Geark, Gladys Sparks and Margaret Miller.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8p.m. Wednesday at Hackman Family Funeral Homes — Rosenberg Chapel, 807 E. Chicago Road, Sturgis.
Funeral services celebrating the life of June R. Wolf will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at First United Methodist Church in Sturgis. The Rev. Deb Johnson and Pastor Robert Keim will officiate. A graveside committal will follow the service at Oak Lawn Cemetery in Sturgis.
