LeRoy “Lee” John Kennealy, 86, of Constantine, passed away at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 17, 2013, into the waiting arms of Jesus. He was surrounded by his wife of 42 years and his four children and one granddaughter.
Lee enlisted into the U.S. Navy when was 17 years old and served from 1942-1946, on the U.S.S. Monterey with President Gerald R. Ford and he was awarded the Purple Heart. He was the Exalted Ruler of The Elks Lodge 2522 in Inverness, Fla. where he lived for 30 years, he was a lifetime member of the Elks and the Three Rivers Eagles Aerie 2303.
Lee is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Annetta J. Kennealy; daughter, Linda J. Speece of Three Rivers; three sons, Patrick (Nancy) Horton of Constantine, Robert (Colleen) Horton of Three Rivers, and David Horton and his partner Daniel Bowen of Three Rivers. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
In accordance with his wishes cremation has taken place. Interment will be at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery at Fort Custer at a later date.
