Snowman Contest event date changed

The deadline for judging White Pigeon’s snowman-building contest has been moved to Jan. 19 due to poor snow quality.

Event organizer Shireen Cline, a member of the White Pigeon Village Council, said judging was supposed to end this week, with prizes given away Sunday. Instead, judging will be extended two weeks in hopes above-freezing temperatures will add moisture to snow and make it easier to pack.

The new gathering date for handing out prizes is 3 p.m. Jan. 20 at the Wade Park gazebo.

Cline said anyone who has a snowman to submit for consideration may email a photo and location to: box_art@hotmail.com.
