Sondra L. Richmond, age 68, of Sturgis, passed away early Monday morning, Jan. 28, 2013, at Thurston Woods Village in Sturgis.
She was born May 23, 1944 in Fort Wayne, Ind., a daughter of Harold and Kathleen (Darby) Newman.
Sondra resided most of her life in Sturgis and was a graduate of Sturgis High School with the class of 1962.
On Oct. 16, 1983, she married Thomas Richmond at Cedar Lake in Howe, Ind.
She owned and operated RWT Medical Transcription and for many years she had been employed by Sturgis Newport Business Forms.
Sondra was an active member of the Eagles Lodge #1314 and enjoyed playing pool participating in league play and reading. She loved time spent with her family especially her grandchildren.
She is survived her loving husband, Thomas Richmond; a daughter, Laura (Jesse) Yoder of Sturgis; two sons, Chad (Melissa) Webb of Sturgis and Joseph Waldron of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; five grandchildren: Shasta Waldron, Jory Webb, Mackenzie Webb and Hunter Webb; a great-granddaughter, Grace Waldron; and a nephew, Scot (Shannan) Jones of Sturgis.
She was preceded in death by her father; and a sister, JoAnn Proctor.
In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial graveside service and burial will take place at 2 p.m. Friday at Oak Lawn Cemetery in Sturgis. Pastor Robert Keim will officiate. The family invites friends to join them at the Eagles Lodge in Sturgis immediately following the graveside service for a meal and a time of fellowship and the sharing of memories.
