Wendell Paul Searer, MD, died peacefully on Dec. 27, 2012 in his 81st year after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. Loving husband of Annetta (nee Howard) for 59 years. Adored father of Kathryn (Jeffrey) McNair and Susan (Benjamin) Myers of Redlands, Calif. and Judith (Grant) Bevill of Crystal Lake, Ill. Proud Pop-Pop to Courtney, Josh, Amy, Clark, Molly, Kristina, Maxwell and Kathryn. Son of the late Russell and Kathryn (Metzler) Searer. Survived by brother, Donald (Mary) of Lombard, Ill.
Wendell was raised in Three Rivers, and was Valedictorian of Three Rivers High School in 1949. He played the violin in the Kalamazoo Junior Symphony. He attended Wheaton College and received his M.D. from University of Michigan. He practiced pediatrics in Ventura, Calif. and also overseas. Wendell was a devoted Christian and loved the Lord.
A Memorial Service will be held later this month in Redlands, Calif. If desired, donations in honor of Wendell may be made to Samaritan’s Purse.
