Verladene “Babe” Goodwill, age 91, of Three Rivers, went to be with her Lord late Saturday, Feb. 23, 2013 at the Riverview Manor Nursing Home. She was born in Allegan, MI., on Oct. 30, 1921 the daughter of Harvey and Mable (Zoll) Belden.
Mrs. Goodwill has been a long time resident of this area. She was a member of the Moorepark Community Church and enjoyed boating, camping, fishing, and mushroom hunting. In Verladene’s younger years she enjoyed constructing and decorating doll houses.
Mrs. Goodwill was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, C.L. “Shorty” Goodwill whom she married Sept. 19, 1942; three brothers, Lee, Gerald, and Earl Belden; six sisters, Florence Fullagur, Flossie Stevens, Beatrice Fuller, Lillian Klaus, Mildred Miller and Clarabelle Fergusson; one sister-in-law, Ella Mae Walton.
She leaves to cherish her loving memory, one daughter, Sandie (Walt) Swihart, of Three Rivers; sister, Bessie (Basil) Andrees, of Plainwell, MI.; three grandchildren, Marty (Sherri) Henschel, of Three Rivers; Melissa (Chris) Rugg, of Three Rivers, and Nicole (Allan) Neal, of Cookeville, TN.; eight great-grandchildren, Marshall and Austin Henschel, Megan (Zac) Findlay, Aaron, Alicia and Alex Swihart, and Cody and Kelsee Neal; as well as two great-great grandchildren, Madison, Max and Ayden .
The family will receive friends from 3-6 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 26th, 2013 at the Hohner Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 27th, 2013 with visitation an hour prior at the Moorepark Community Church, with Pastor Ken Miller officiating.
Interment will be held in Flowerfield Cemetery.
