Emma Young, 92

Emma Young, age 92, of Three Rivers, died Saturday Feb. 23, 2013 at Heartland Healthcare Center in Three Rivers. She was born in Neiva, Huila, Columbia on Aug. 20, 1920 the daughter of Celiano and Alicia (Barney) Dussan. She was married to Justiniano Young on Sep. 25, 1943 in Cali, Columbia and has been a resident of the United States since 1965. Emma was a homemaker who loved to cook, baby-sit her grandchildren, solve puzzles, knit, sew, and crochet.

Emma is survived by two daughters, Nancy Tobon of Three Rivers and Elsy (Jim) Wagner of Mendon; four grandchildren, Joseph (Ann Marie) Tobon of Hilliard, OH, Jimena (Randy) Mason of Mishawaka, IN, James “JJ” (Nikki) Wagner of Mendon, and Monica Wagner of Ann Arbor; six great-grandchildren, Joseph and Maggie Tobon, Aaron Spence, Andrew, Mia, and Willie Mason; two sisters, Sophia Perez and Emelia Bustamante both of Tampa, FL. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Lenore Barney; her husband, Justiniano; and a son in law, Joseph Tobon.

Cremation has been conducted. A memorial mass will be 11 a.m. Saturday March 2, 2013 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Three Rivers with Rev. Rob Johansen officiating . Interment of ashes will take place in Mendon Cemetery. The family suggests that memorials be directed to Heartland Hospice, 8075 Creekside Drive, Suite 120, Portage, MI 49024.
