John Charles Baird, age 55, of Three Rivers, passed away on Thursday, Feb. 14, 2013 at the Heartland Health Care Center. He was born on Feb. 18, 1957 in Hastings, MI. the son of Alvin and Lucille (Hotrum) Baird.
John has been a long time resident of this area. He was self-employed in the landscaping business and spent almost twelve years at Swiss Valley Ski Lodge before taking ill. John attended both the Newberg Norton Bible Church as well as the Faith Bible Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing golf and skiing, as well as playing Santa Claus for family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Walter Baird, and a granddaughter, Courtney.
He leaves to cherish his loving memory, his wife, Geraldine “Gerri” Baird, of Three Rivers, whom he married Feb. 16, 1979 in Centreville, MI.; two step-children, Ricky (Michelle) Kelley, of Kalamazoo, and Brian (Nicole) Kelley, of West Virginia; one sister, Gladys Mathiak , two half sisters, Eva and Marian; one brother, Louis (Starr) Baird; half-brother, Arthur Baird; six grandchildren , Zachary, Andrew, Christine, Alexis, Cheryl, and Jacob Kelley. Sister-in-law, Mary Baird.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013 at the Hohner Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 21, 2013 at the Hohner Funeral Home, with Pastor John Hill officiating.
Interment will be held in Marcellus Cemetery.
