State Rep. Matt Lori, who serves on the House Appropriations Committee, has issued a statement regarding Gov. Rick Snyder’s budget presentation.
Lori, a Constantine-area resident, said he is looking forward to examining Snyder’s budget proposal in detail. Lori said Snyder opened the door to discussion on how legislators spend taxpayers’ money, and it is Lori’s goal to make sure legislators are making the best use of every dollar, he said.
Lori said as chair of the Department of Community Health Appropriations Subcommittee, he applauds the governor and his call to expand Medicaid to cover nearly half a million more low-income Michigan residents.
Lori said the smart thing to do is take whatever federal money is offered and make the best of available resources to promote a healthy lifestyle.
