Stan Eugene Yerrick, age 46, of Sturgis, Mich., passed away unexpectedly Friday evening, Feb. 22, 2013, at his home.
He was born March 18, 1966, in Sturgis, Mich., son of Lawrence and Janice (Hill) Yerrick.
Stan was an over the road truck driver currently driving for R & R Trucking in Chicago.
He was an outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing and his dogs. Stan loved time spent with his family, especially his granddaughter.
He is survived by two daughters, Naomi Yerrick of Battle Creek and Erica Yerrick of Plainwell; granddaughter, Reese; father and step-mother, Lawrence and Nancy Yerrick of Bronson; two sisters, Stephenie (Jeremy) Nelson of Sturgis and Jill Yerrick of Royal Oak; two brothers, Shannon Yerrick of Sturgis and Lawrence (Nicole) Yerrick of Muskegon; grandmother, Elizabeth Hill of Florida; nieces and nephews, Alan Davis, Janna (Chance) Fiala, Ranah (Keith) McNett, Austin Yerrick, Kylee Yerrick, Andrea Nelson and Landyn Yerrick; great nieces and nephews, Paris Tracy, Miles Fiala and Kyle Davis.
He was preceded in death by his mother.
In accordance with family wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service celebrating the life of Stan Yerrick will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Hackman Family Funeral Homes – Hackman Chapel, 114 S. Nottawa St., Sturgis, MI 49091, 269-651-2331. The Rev. Deb Johnson of the First United Methodist Church in Sturgis will officiate. Burial of the ashes will follow the service at the Burr Oak Cemetery in Burr Oak.
