Jeffery Lee Fricker, age 49, of Sturgis, Mich., passed away early Friday evening, March 1, 2013, at the Sturgis Hospital Emergency Room.
He was born March 12, 1963, in Sturgis, Mich.,son of John C. and Sharon L. (Knight) Fricker.
Jeff was a lifelong Sturgis resident and a graduate of Sturgis High School with the class of 1981.
Jeff actively volunteered his time in the community. One of his favorite volunteer efforts was watering flowers at Oak Lawn Cemetery. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, playing basketball, Frisbee, video games, pool and had a true love of animals.
He is survived by one sister, Cindy (Larry) Cox of Dorr; one niece, Tammy (Todd) Waran; three nephews, Joe (Morgan) Amthor, Matthew (Alison) Amthor and Ricky Cox; three great nieces, Cloey Amthor, Isabelle Waran and Rhylee Amthor; two great nephews, Landon Waran and Junior Amthor.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two great nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6:-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Hackman Family Funeral Homes – Hackman Chapel, 114 S. Nottawa St., Sturgis, MI 49091, 269-651-2331. In accordance with Jeff’s wishes cremation will follow the visitation.
