Alice Molter, 59

Alice’s life began on Feb. 12, 1954, in Chicago, a daughter of Donald M. and Mary Jane (Stockwell) Symonds Sr.

She was a gifted and extreme artist, starting with attending classes at the age of 11 or 12 at the Chicago Art Institute.

She was a gifted seamstress, making clothes for her children, herself and her family. Alice used her talents to create beautifully decorated cakes, drawings and pottery.

Her loving family includes her daughters, Alison Molter of Wyoming, Mich., and Angela Molter of Watervliet; son, Sean Molter of Michigan; a granddaughter, Hailey Smith of Wyoming; a sister, Paulette (Bill) Robinson of White Pigeon; three brothers, Donald (Linda) Symonds of Dowagiac, John (Doris) Symonds of Vicksburg and Robert Symonds of Dowagiac; and several nieces and nephews.

Alice passed away on Monday, April 15, 2013, at her daughter’s Wyoming residence of incurable lung cancer. She is preceded in death by her parents.

Alice’s family will gather with friends noon-1 p.m. Monday, April 22, at Yazel & Clark Chapel, where her memorial service will begin at 1 p.m., led by Pastor Stacey Wilder.
