Charles H. Wagner, age 84, of Constantine, passed away April 1, 2013 at his home. He was born in Constantine on January 10, 1929, a son of Arthur and Lena (Wagner) Wagner. Charles graduated from Three Rivers High School in 1946. He served in the U.S. Army from 1951 to 1952 serving in Munich Germany. On August 14, 1955 he married Rosemary M. Favorite in Three Rivers. Charles worked for Constantine Creamery for 38 years retiring in 1991. Following retirement he worked for Russell Farms. He was a member of the St. Joe Valley Old Engine Assoc., the White Pigeon Music and Band Boosters, and Corey Church of the Nazarene.
Surviving are his wife Rosemary Wagner, Constantine, sons Jeff (Pauletta) Wagner, Three Rivers, Phil (Cheryl) Wagner, White Pigeon, Steve (Doreen) Wagner, Colon, Bob (Pam) Wagner, Three Rivers, Dave (Chris) Wagner, White Pigeon, Rick (Gina) Wagner, Constantine, Brad (Amy) Wagner, Constantine, daughters Brenda (Frank) Eggleston, Marcellus, Linda (Ryan) Gravit, LaGrange, IN, sisters Maxine Baumeister, Burr Oak, Phyllis Seekman, Constantine, brother Doug (Barb) Wagner, Constantine, God Sons Tom Rice and Ken Baumeister, grandchildren Jessica, Tony (Layla), Brandon R.(Stephanie), Lindsay, Brittany, Tyler, Courtney, Richard, Jesse, Katie, Lucy, Erika, Ryan, Nathan, Maddy, Heidi, Robben, Brandon J., Sam and Rachel, great grandchildren Madison, Caden, Zaelynn, Kelsey and two on the way, several nieces and nephews and many who called him Grandpa.
He was preceded in death by his parents, step father Earl Bowers, siblings, Cybella (Frank) Rice, Hubert (Daisy) Wagner, brothers in law George Baumeister and Jack Seekman, daughter in law Sandy (Norton) Wagner, granddaughter Hannah Rose Eggleston, and great nephew Roger Wagner Jr.
Relatives and friends will be received Thursday from 2-8 p.m. at Eley Funeral Home in Constantine. Religious Services will be held Friday at 11:00 a.m. at Three Rivers Church of the Nazarene. Pastors Dwight Hostetler, Gary Carr, and Richard Osborne will officiate. Burial will be in Peek Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Co.
