Lorene Dane, 90

Lorene B. Dane, 90, of Three Rivers went to the Lord Sunday April 28, 2013 with family at her bedside. Lorene was born on June 28, 1922 in Hamill, South Dakota. She was the daughter of the late Raymond and Jenny (Imboden) Savage. Lorene started her schooling in Hamill, South Dakota and finished in Centreville, Michigan, while working at the hotel. This is where she met Leonard E. Dane and they married on June 1, 1940 in Union City, Michigan and then resided in Three Rivers, Michigan. She worked as a head cashier at Kroger’s for 37 years. Lorene enjoyed spending time with her family, dancing, camping, fishing, baking, tending to her flowerbeds especially her rose bushes, feeding and watching the birds, and playing cards. Lorene was a devoted and loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, and great grandmother.

She is survived by two sisters Luella Getzloff of Sturgis, Margene Wordelman of Three Rivers; one brother Dennis Savage of Bronson; one daughter JoAnn (Dave) Rentfrow of Three Rivers; four grandchildren David Joe Rentfrow of Three Rivers, John David (Caroline) Rentfrow of Three Rivers, Douglas John (Anne) Rentfrow of Mattawan, Dana Jo (Robert) Kipker of Three Rivers; seven great grandchildren Monica Kathleen Rentfrow, Rachel Marie Rentfrow, Lindsey Nicole Rentfrow, Kimberly Lynn Rentfrow, Ashley Nicole Kipker, James David Kipker, and Emily Rene Kipker and several nieces and nephews. Her parents, husband, three sisters Marilyn Chaff, Arlene Savage, and Betty Babka preceded her in death.

The family will receive friends on Friday May 3, 2013 from 6-8 p.m. at the Eickhoff-Farrand-Halverson Chapel in Three Rivers. Funeral services for Lorene B. Dane will be on Saturday May 4, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Reverend Gary Carr officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.
