Man arrested for drugs

Sturgis Police officers arrested a man on drug-related and probation-violation offenses.

Officers were called shortly before 10:30 p.m. Friday to a residence in the 200 block of North Fourth Street in response to someone attempting to break in.

Officers discovered the 29-year-old Sturgis man was on parole for driving under the influence and one condition of his parole was that he not consume alcohol. A preliminary breath test found his blood-alcohol level to be 0.36 percent.

As the man was being arrested, police found a number of packets containing crack cocaine ready for delivery.
