A Burr Oak Township man was killed in a one-car crash in Colon Township over the weekend.
The St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Department said Charles O’Brien III, 40, died as a result of the 8:55 p.m. incident Sunday on Farrand Road, north of Townline Road .
Investigators said O’Brien was driving a 1995 Ford Mustang north on Farrand Road when the vehicle went off the roadway, overturned, struck a tree and caught on fire. O’Brien died at the scene.
