Steven R. Shoemaker, age 62 of Three Rivers went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at the University of Michigan Hospital surrounded by his family. He was born August 11, 1950 in Three Rivers, the son of Robert and Leatrice (Fawkes) Shoemaker.
Steve graduated with the class of 1968 from Three Rivers High School and enjoyed fishing with his grandson and friends. He was an avid White Sox and Bears Fan. He was united in marriage on Dec. 19, 1975 to Mrs. Tonya Millhollin. Steve was previously employed at Steiningers Sport Shop, Hardings Market, Peterson Springs, and was currently employed at American Axle.
Mr. Shoemaker was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents, Parke and Louise Fawkes, and his in-laws, Norman and Janice Milhollin. Brother-in-law and wife, Richard and Kathy Milhollin.
He leaves to cherish his loving memory and jokes, wife, Tonya Shoemaker; daughter, Marnie (Dave) Apa, of Three Rivers, sisters, Cindy Elliott, of Tucson, AZ., Kris (Don) Stephens, of Tempe, AZ., and Billie Washburn, of Kalamazoo. Most important in his life were his grandchildren Parke Shoemaker and Micah Garrison. Also surviving are brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Geoff Milhollin, of Vandalia, Randy (Donnita) Milhollin, and Lisa Hartman, all of Three Rivers; mother-in-law, Donna Hardy, of Three Rivers. Host of nieces and nephews and great friends.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until time of services at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, April 15, 2013 at the Hohner Funeral Home 1004 Arnold St; Three Rivers ,MI 49093 with Pastor Ron Bell officiating.
