Zoe Dreis Brost, age 94, of Three Rivers, formerly of Watervliet, MI. passed away on Saturday, April 27, 2013. She was born July 12, 1918 in Chicago, IL., the daughter of Philippe J. and Elizabeth F. (Maerke) Dreis. Zoe moved to Wheaton, IL., when she was six. She graduated from Wheaton Community High School and eleven years after her marriage to Mr. Andrew J. Brost Sr., they moved to New Jersey. Ten years later, when Continental Can Co. transferred to Three Rivers, MI. she and the family moved there too. She was an active member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church where she was involved with Daughters of Mary, I.C. HELP, Hospice of Three Rivers, and Michigan Right to Life.
Mrs. Brost was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Andrew J. Brost in 1976, two children, two brothers, Robert and Donald Dreis, one grandchild, Andrew Brost III, and one great-grandchild as well as son-in-law, Andrew Reck.
She leaves to cherish her loving memory, five children, Mrs. Zoe Ann (Dr. William) Gordon, of Notclair, N.J., Andrew (Sheila) Brost Jr., of Carteret, N.J., Gerard (Lucia) Brost, of Orlando, FL., Mark (Mary) Brost, of Three Rivers, MI., Mary Reck, of Watervliet, twelve grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at the Hohner Funeral Home, with Rosary service at 7:30 p.m.
Mass of Resurrection will be held 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 2, 2013 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Fr. Rob Johansen as celebrant.
Christian Burial will take place in St. Boniface Cemetery in Chicago, IL., on Friday May 3, 2013 at 12:30 eastern time.
