Beverly June Garnett, age 95, of Three Rivers, formerly of Chesterton and Michigan City, Ind., died at Fairview Nursing Home on Friday, May 10, 2013, following a lengthy illness. She was born in Three Rivers, daughter of Walter A. and Madge E. (Erway) Sass.
Mrs. Garnett graduated from Centreville High School with the class of 1934. She also attended Gary Business College, of Gary, Ind. She was also a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness.
Mrs. Garnett was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Nicolay and Caryle Sass; sisters, Sherrill Jones and Joyce Robison; one sister-in-law, Beverly Sass.
She leaves to cherish her loving memory one step-son, Robert Garnett Jr.; three sisters, Madelyn Bickle of Portage, Patricia Stafford of Weaverville, N.C. and Barbara Stevens of Three Rivers; one brother, Walter Merdith Sass of Three Rivers, sister-in-law, Ruth Sass of North Carolina; nephew, Stacy Jones of California; special niece, Pamela Singler of Constantine; many other nieces and nephews.
Per her request cremation has taken place.
The family will have a memorial service at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness, 330 S. Douglas Ave., Three Rivers on Saturday, May 18 at 2 p.m. with Richard Black officiating.
Interment will be at South Park Cemetery.
Arrangements are being handled by the Hohner Funeral Home.
