Carla Stone, 51

Carla Ellen Stone, 51, of Centreville, Mich., passed away May 21, 2013, at home.

She was born in Allegan, Mich., on Sept. 11, 1961, to Arthur E. Waters and Marilyn M. Waters.

Carla was engaged to Wayne Simmons for 14 years. She enjoyed camping, fishing, arts and crafts, playing cards and spending time with her family.

Surviving Carla are her fiancé, Wayne Simmons; son Arthur Stone; sisters Joyce Bender of Michigan, Winnie Cooler of South Carolina, Polly Waters of Georgia, Tex White of Tennessee, Joann Haynes of California; and brothers Arthur Waters Jr. and John P. Waters of California; along with many nieces and nephews.

Carla touched the hearts of many people and continued to do so after her death by donating her body to science.
