Catherine L. (Hile) Edgington, age 83, of Kendallville, IN and formerly of Sturgis, MI passed away January 11, 2013 at Parkview Noble Hospital in Kendallville, IN.
She was born September 18, 1929 in Kendallville, IN a daughter to the late Ben and Hazel (Witmer) Hile and has been a resident of Sturgis since 1970.
Catherine was first married to James R. Bell. This marriage ended in divorce and on June 14, 1969 in Centreville, MI she married Paul J. Edgington. He preceded her in death Oct. 8, 2006.
She was a homemaker, a tailor, and a member of the Women’s Moose Auxiliary. She enjoyed crocheting and walking.
Surviving are two daughters:Linda Sue (Clint) Michalove of Boiling Springs, SC and Cathy Lou (Ken) Long of Kendallville, IN; 2 sons: Dan Bell of Bakers, FL and J.R. (Lisa) Bell of Sunfield, MI; 23 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; step children: Peggy Edgington of Burr Oak, MI, David P. Edgington of Sturgis, MI and Gary L. Edgington of Centreville, MI.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband: Paul, sister: Bonnie Smith, and 3 brothers: Bob, Paul, and James Hile.
According to her wishes, cremation has taken place. Graveside services and interment celebrating the life’s of Catherine and Paul Edgington will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, June 14, 2013 at Oak Lawn Cemetery in Sturgis, MI.
Memorial donations maybe directed to the American Heart Association or Hospice of Sturgis, envelopes are available at the Hackman Family Funeral Home – Rosenberg Chapel, 807 E. Chicago Rd., Sturgis, MI 49091 who has been entrusted with the arrangements.
