Frederick Homer “Woody” Woods, age 83 of Three Rivers died Saturday May 11, 2013 at his home following a long illness. He was born in Little Egypt, Ohio on April 15, 1930 the son of Rollen Henry Woods and Rose (Julian) Woods. Fred was married to Elizabeth “Betty” Dokey in 1949 while living in Vicksburg. Fred was a butcher for many years and later worked at Nagel Gladiola Farm. He enjoyed wood-working, gardening, and hunting, and was a big country music fan.
Fred is survived by five children, Linda (Jay) Crabtree of Three Rivers, Deb (Frank) Cerny of Leonidas, Rick Woods and Joseph Woods of Three Rivers, and Bill (Shirley) Woods of Centreville; 24 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Betty in 1998; two daughters, Sandra Dentler and Pam Dare; son Frederick A. Woods; grandsons, Jason Woods and Joey Woods; two sisters; and one brother.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday May 14, 2013 at the Eickhoff Funeral Home in Mendon. Funeral services will begin at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with David Farrell officiating. Burial will be in Vicksburg Cemetery.
