Pearl Louise Taylor, age 84, of Centreville died Saturday May 4, 2013 at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo. She was born in Battle Creek, MI on March 10, 1929 the daughter of Benoni C. and Ruth M. (Berger) Yeomans. She attended several area country schools and graduated from Colon High School. She was married to Raymond Taylor in 1946. Following his untimely death she was married to LaVern Taylor on Jan. 23, 1954 in Leonidas. Together they raised a family and operated farms in Colon and Leonidas Townships. Louise had also worked at Douglas Manufacturing, and Lakeshore Elevator before retiring from Magic Pop Popcorn Co. She was a former member of the Wakeman Chapel in Mendon. She was an avid reader, PBR Rodeo fan, Michigan State fan, and enjoyed watching family sporting events.
Louise is survived by six children, Philip (Carol) Taylor of Iron Mountain, Ronald (Faith) Taylor of Sturgis, Norman Taylor of Crystal Falls, C. Steven (Kim) Taylor of Three Rivers, Barbara (Jim) Weinberg of Colon, and Diane (Duane) Schwartz of Centreville; 18 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; a sister, Mary Ellen (Glen) Blood of Emory, TX; and a step-sister, Faye (Ron) Bohm of Centreville. She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, Raymond Taylor and LaVern Taylor; two sisters, Betty Cross and Maxine Hansett a half-brother, Clifford Dick; half-sister, Joan Stiteler; and a granddaughter, Jaime Weinberg.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday at the Eickhoff Funeral Home in Mendon. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday May 11, 2013 at the funeral home with David Farrell and Curtis Bennett officiating. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery in Colon.
