Patty Steffey, 51

Patricia “Patty” Ann Steffey, age 51, of Three Rivers passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 30, 2013 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Three Rivers, MI., on October 22, 1961 the daughter of Richard Elwyn and Marilyn Georgia(Spence) Grosskunze.

Patty was a lifetime resident of Three Rivers graduating with the class of 1979. On March 16, 1985 she was united in marriage to Douglas Steffey. Patty was a faithful member of this community and worked for over 27 years at Frankie’s Restaurant, where she was a steadfast and loyal employee. She had a passion for knowing and loving her customers and for them loving her. Patty, even through her battle with cancer was faithful to her work, her friends, and her family (which included almost everyone!). Patty never was at a loss for words and will always be remembered for her quick wit and great smile.

She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.

She leaves to cherish her loving memory, husband, Douglas “Doug” Steffey, of Three Rivers, brother, David L. (Jo A.) Grosskunze; of Three Rivers; sister, Diana L. (Ron) Mak, of Houghton Lake, MI. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, cousins, and step-siblings. Many, many friends, especially Kelly Evans who was with Patty when she passed.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until time of her celebration at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 3, 2013 at the Hohner Funeral Home, with Chaplain Dan Lane officiating.
