Bank robbery arrest in Kalamazoo

A Kalamazoo man is facing felony charges after walking into three separate banks and demanding $1  billion and two cents.  Police say 24-year-old Lemont Pierce is charged with three counts of bank robbery. Mlive.com reports Pierce entered a First National Bank in Kalamazoo Monday and told the teller that he wanted a billion dollars. When the teller responded saying “I don’t have a billion dollars,” Piece displayed a pair of scissors and demanded all the cash the teller had. Pierce then exited the bank and threw the money into the air and let it fall to the ground. Pierce then headed to a PNC Bank, about three blocks away, where he demanded a single penny. He then exited the PNC Bank and crossed the street to Fifth Third Bank where he again demanded one penny. Police arrested Pierce outside the Fifth Third Bank. He is being held in the Kalamazoo County Jail.  (MRN)
