Closed parking planned

Several closings of the East City Parking Lot in Three Rivers are planned in the next few days to accommodate resurfacing of the facility.

According to Christy Trammell, Executive Director of the Three Rivers Downtown Development Authority (DDA), the resurfacing project has been planned for several years “and it is finally going to be done.”

Trammell said the resurfacing will involve a new layout of the lot to address concerns regarding “the current narrow spaces, which will be wider next week.”

The lot will be closed on Friday (June 21) from 7:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. for crack sealing. On Tuesday (June 25), the lot will be closed at 7:30 a.m. and will re-open Wednesday afternoon, completed with micro surfacing and painting. In case of rain, the Tuesday/Wednesday will change to Wednesday/Thursday.

Trammell said, “During these closures, we will need ALL vehicles out of the lot and parking will be allowed along Joshua Drive and Downtown without parking tickets issued.”
